So… about all I knew about Uzbekistan was that it was the birthplace of one of my favourite cyclists, early-90s sprinter, Djamolidine Abdoujaparov.
From Stockholm I head to Bergen to enjoy the fjords and hills of western Norway.

An early start to drive over to Stromness for the ferry. There is a ferry that runs from St Margaret’s Hope to Gill’s Bay in about an hour but by going from Stromness you get to cruise by The Old Man of Hoy.
After a good night’s sleep and breakfast in Thurso at St Clair Hotel it’s a short drive to Scrabster to catch the ferry to Stromness on Orkney.
Leaving Edinburgh for a two week road trip up the north-east coast from Inverness to John o’Groats, across the north coast to Durness and down the west coast to Fort William, taking in some of the Orkneys and the Isle of Skye!
Flights available from LHR to SEA for c£500 end of Aug /start of Sep for two weeks – awesome! US Road Trip here we come!!
When time is limited, lots of plans and ideas are important to making the most of your time outside the office – whether it’s a wander in the hills or along the coast, a pint from the local brewery or sup from local distillery or the best local grub on offer.
